Dale Cooper is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 2001. Dale has successfully managed a flourishing practice at 108 S. Albany Street in Ithaca, New York, for the last nineteen years. While Dale specializes in deep tissue sports massage, he takes an integrative approach and incorporates the modalities of deep tissue, sports, Swedish, and reflexology into each customized session.
Dale has worked with a variety of athletes, including Olympians, Ironmen, professional triathletes, National Track & Field Champions, IFBB professional bodybuilders, Squash World Champions, NFL athletes, and members of the Finger Lakes Running and Ithaca Triathlon Clubs.
Additionally, Dale has aided in the post-surgical rehabilitation for a Master’s 1500 Track & Field National Champion during his lumbar surgery recovery and a USA Open Swim Olympian during recovery from rotator cuff shoulder surgery. Dale has also assisted in client recovery from injuries, including torn Achilles tendon, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, bulging disks, hamstring tendinopathy, rotator-cuff rehabilitation, and lymphedema post-mastectomy. In conjunction with a client’s neurosurgeon, he gave in-hospital care to a patient experiencing post-surgical complications.
Dale has rehabbed NCAA National Champions and All-American athletes and prepped them for competition during his tenure as the massage therapist for the Cornell University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams from 2017 to 2019; the Cornell University Women’s Hockey Team from 2015 to 2016; and the Cornell University Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams from 2002 to 2010. Dale played an integral role in the Cornell University Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams winning eight Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships from 2002-10 and seven Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships in 2002-08 and 2010.
Dale also delivers specialized on-site massage at athletic races, weddings, festivals, and fundraisers.
